Court Reform Task Force Task Force Goals:
County residents should not have to pay the highest court fees in the state and even higher taxes to obtain justice. All resources must be utilized to insure fair and efficient courts. The State of Illinois must pay for more of the costs of running the largest state court system in the nation.
The task force will explore a variety of legal issues, including community use of the Skokie Courthouse, construction of a new domestic violence courthouse, social services in the court system and overcrowding of the Cook County Jail. They will also investigate the court related resources available and determine ways to coordinate efforts and bring additional resources to meet unmet and under-funded needs.
Task Force Progress:
The task force is examining these issues, and it will make initial suggestions addressing the major improvements needed and what actions the County Board can take to assist in their enhancement.
