Haitian Relief Efforts
The 13th District is home to one of the largest
concentration of Haitian Americans in the United States.As you know, a 7.0 magnitude as devastated
the nation of Haiti, created a terrible humanitarian disaster.
Last night I attended a meeting of the Haitian Congress to
Fortify Haiti, a group headed by Lionel-Jean Baptiste, an Evanston
alderman.The Haitian-American Community
discussed the best way to help, and it became clear at the meeting that the
best way to help is to contribute to organizations that have been working in
Haiti for some time and have staff and supply sources in place.

deploy additional relief resources.
