Suffredin Honored by the Evanston/North Shore NAACPTuesday, October 11, 2005
Special to suffredin.org The Evanston/North Shore Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) honored Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, 13th District, with its Political Action Award at its 41st Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on October 8, 2005. Commissioner Suffredin commented, “I was deeply honored to receive this award from the Evanston/North Shore Branch of the NAACP. The Evanston/North Shore Branch of the NAACP has done significant work to improve the areas of education, the criminal justice system, and health care for all in Evanston. I look forward to continuing to work with and support the organization’s efforts.” The 41st Annual Freedom Fund Banquet was held on October 8, 2005 at the North Shore Skokie Hotel in Skokie, Illinois. Other honorees included Ms. Elizabeth M. Jenkins, Mr. Morris “Dino” Robinson, Jr., and Mr. Hollis Settles, Jr. (posthumously). The keynote address was given by the Honorable Emil Jones, Illinois State Senate President.
