Agreement for Work on Lake-Cook RoadThursday, November 17, 2005 Special to suffredin.org Chicago, Illinois. Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, 13th District, announces that the Cook County Board approved an intergovernmental agreement between Cook County and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority for the design and construction of a new Eastbound toll way to Northbound Waukegan and ramp movement at the interchange on Waukegan Road (IL 43) at the Edens Expressway Spur (I-94) in the Village of Northbrook. The County Board approved the intergovernmental agreement with the State Toll Highway Authority on November 15, 2005. The County Highway Department anticipates that the State Toll Highway Authority will approve the award for this work on November 17, 2005 and that construction will begin in spring 2006 and be completed in fall 2006. The intergovernmental agreement is the result of three years of discussions between the Cook County Highway Department, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and the Village of Deerfield. The interchange modification work to be done is to ease traffic congestion in anticipation of the County’s construction work on Lake-Cook Road that is scheduled for 2008. This project will help facilitate alternative traffic routing that will be required when the County starts the Lake-Cook Road work in 2008.
