Dart wants inmates to pay $10 for doctor visits

by STNG News Service Cook County Jail inmates could be charged as much as $10 if they want to see a doctor under a plan being floated by Sheriff Tom Dart.
During a budget presentation, Dart said "every other county in the state does this" and "the potential for revenue is great" for the cash-strapped county.
Dart envisions a sliding scale, based on ability to pay, that would be taken from the commissary fund inmates now use for toiletries and junk food.
