Property Reassessment Appeal Seminar - Niles Township

Monday, December 03, 2007
Special to suffredin.org

Cook County Commissioners Larry Suffredin and Gregg Goslin, Cook County Board of Appeals Commissioners Joseph Berrios and Brendan Houlihan and Niles Township Assessor Scott Bagnall encourage Niles Township residents to attend a property reassessment appeal seminar for Niles Township residents.

Property Reassessment Appeal Seminar
Monday, December 10
7:00p.m.
American Legion Memorial Civic Center
6140 Dempster Street
Morton Grove, IL

Staff from the office of Board of Review Commissioner Joseph Berrios will conduct the seminars. The seminars will inform homeowners how to determine whether they were over-assessed, where to gather evidence for an appeal with the Board of Review and how to fill out and file the assessment complaint form for the 2007 assessment year.  This assessment will be for taxes to be paid in September, 2008.

Niles Township residents have until January 3, 2008 to submit their complaint forms to the Cook County Board of Review.

Taxpayers are encouraged to bring their Assessment Notice or Property Identification Number to the seminar in order to complete and submit complaint forms at the seminar.

Commissioner Suffredin commented, "The Board of Review is Cook County's safety net to ensure citizens have a voice in obtaining a fair assessment. If your feel your assessment is improper, please take advantage of your right to appeal."

For more information about the seminar, call the office of Commissioner Joesph Berrios at 312-603-6978 or 312-603-4725, or the office of Commissioner Brendan Houlihan at 312-603-3644.
