COMMISSIONER SUFFREDIN ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM FOR RESIDENTS TO PAY THEIR TAXES ELECTRONICALLY AT PARTICIPATING BANKS

Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, D - 13th District, is pleased to announce that Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas has created a new Community Bank Outreach Program that enables taxpayers to pay their taxes electronically at participating banks. Banks located in the 13th District enrolled in the program are:

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, Glencoe branch, 362 Park Ave., Glencoe

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, Glencoe Drive Thru, 633 Vernon Ave., Glencoe

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, Skokie branch, 7800 Lincoln Ave., Skokie

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, main office, 1145 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, Wilmette Drive Thru, 720 12th St., Wilmette

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, 4th & Linden Walk-up, 351 Linden Ave., Wilmette

· North Shore Community Bank & Trust, Winnetka branch, 576 Lincoln Ave., Winnetka

· Premier Bank, main office, 1210 Central Ave., Wilmette

· Brickyard Bank, main office, 6676 N. Lincoln Ave., Lincolnwood

Taxpayers with checking or savings accounts can take their property tax bills to the bank and make direct-debit payment at the bank or any of their branches. There is a $1 convenience fee by the third-party processor.

Such payments can be made from February 2, 2004, through March 2, 2004. The March due date is for bills for the first installment of the tax year 2003, which are being mailed now.
