Cook County Hospital Strategic Redevelopment
Main Medical Campus Update

Friday, December 05, 2014
Special to suffredin.org

Cook County’s Asset Management team is seeking a development group to address the Core Medical needs at the Cook County Hospital (Stroger) Campus. On November 24th the first of two RFP’s was posted for the public to review and response, the RFP was developed by Asset Management team and the Cook County Health and Hospital System. The second RFP, which is for the market rate side of the Hospital Campus redevelopment is due out later this month.

The Main Hospital RFP is posted on CCHHS website at http://www.cookcountyhhs.org/about-cchhs/doing-business-with-cchhs/bids-rfp/.

Cook County Hospital Strategic Redevelopment

Overview: Cook County Hospital (now Stroger Hospital) has long been recognized, and remains today, one of the world’s great teaching hospitals attracting physicians from around the country and serving the health care needs of the city and the region. The introduction of County Care has afforded the Stroger Campus the opportunity to be fiscally sound and look to the future as a national leader in health care specialties. On March 12, 2014, the Cook County Board of Commissioners approved the engagement of a strategic professional team to address the hospital’s future needs and to leverage the inherent real estate value from the available land. The strategic development manager team will articulate the vision of the County Board President, the County Commissioners and the CCHHS leadership and provide the development parameters to help solve for CCHHS’ 1) core medical needs at Stroger Campus and 2) identify potentials for redevelopment of available real estate to both enhance the overall site, and provide revenue sources through mixed use development. Meet and Greet

President Preckwinkle welcomes a gathering of over 300 persons at the Meet and Greet, Hektoen Auditorium, November 14, 2014.

We had over 300 persons attend our Meet and Greet, along with numerous requests for email contact information. We have placed, in alphabetical order, those in attendance at each session of the Meet and Greet. If you wish for your name and email to be removed from this on-line list, or know of anyone we should add, please let us know. We hope our Meet and Greet will facilitate more information getting out about our projects with firms of all size, within Cook County.
