Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin (13th District) announced the reappointment of Vernon Squires to the Pace Board of Directors. The Committee of Suburban Cook County Commissioners approved the reappointment at its June 21 meeting.

Mr. Squires has served on the Board of Directors since 1985, and currently serves as its Vice Chairman.  Along with being a former Village President for the Village of Wilmette, Mr. Squires has served as a Village Trustee, and is director of the Wilmette Historical Society and The Mather Foundation in Evanston.

The eleven members of the Pace Board of Directors are appointed to four year terms.  The six members from Suburban Cook County must be approved by the suburban Cook County Commissioners, while the counties of DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will each appoint one member.   Members of the Pace Board of Directors must be either a current or former Mayor or Village President from his or her respective region.

The Committee also reappointed Richard Kwasneski, Al Larson, and Anna Montana to the Pace Board of Directors, along with appointing Terry Wells, Mayor of Phoenix, and Richard Pellegrino, Mayor of Indian Head Park, to their first terms.
