Extended Hours 11/15/22 Niles Township Assessor
Hello Niles Township
We will extend office hours on Tuesday, 11/15/22, from 4:00 pm through 7:00 pm. No appointment necessary. Everyone will be a walk-in.
This will be for the purpose of assisting taxpayers with the filing of 2022 reassessment appeals. Please - no exemptions or other tax matters on Tuesday.
Tax Bills For anyone still interested the County has made it official now. The 2021 2nd Installment tax bills will be online on Tuesday 11/15 at CookCountyTreasurer.com and mailed on 12/1 with a 12/30 due date.
You can pay online or print your bill from Maria Pappas' website and pay at Chase Bank.
Here is why we should pay those bills ASAP. The taxing agencies are going to receive tax revenues about six months later than planned. The part no one is telling us is that if these agencies incurred interest charges or other costs because of the delay, we will be paying them someway at some point. The quicker we get those tax revenues flowing the quicker we get to reducing the cost of carrying the delay.
Scott
