Cook County Jail inmate dies on her birthdayMonday, August 13, 2012
Chicago Sun-Times A woman died Sunday while being held in the Cook County Jail, according to officials.
Wathena Young, whose home address was listed as 2600 S. California Ave., the Cook County Jail, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 9:17 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Young had a history of diabetes, the medical examiner’s office said. She died on her 48th birthday. Young was booked into jail Thursday, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office website. A Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment Monday morning.
